AI-enabled ‘robot lawyer’ to make legal history as it tackles first case in court

Next month, the pioneering “Robot Lawyer” will stand before a court to represent someone with its artificial intelligence legal assistant. It is due to challenge a speeding ticket on their behalf – an unprecedented moment in history!

Dubbed “the world’s first robot lawyer,” DoNotPay’s AI will provide defendants with real-time courtroom advice through a smartphone. The AI will listen to court proceedings and give the defendant information through headphones on what to say

The hearing is to take place in February, however, the makers of the robotic lawyer have chosen not to reveal either the court’s whereabouts or who will be on trial.

Joshua Browder, Founder & CEO of DoNoPay said they will cover any fines should the defendant lose the case.

Engineered to be strategic, the AI app’s software was tweaked so it doesn’t respond to everything heard in court. Instead, it will discreetly listen and analyze legal arguments before providing counsel on how best for the defendant to respond.

DoNoPay also plans to have AI help “fight corporations, beat bureaucracy and sue anyone at the press of a button.”
