Police raided the hospital room of terminally ill patient in Hays, Kansas. The man was reportedly utilizing a cannabis vape as well as THC paste to alleviate his cancer symptoms.
Greg Bretz, 69, prepares for the end of his life due to inoperable cancer that is expected to take his life within weeks. As Bretz told the Kansas City Star, his doctor recommended he take whatever measures necessary to reduce his agony – including the use of cannabis products.
A hospital employee who witnessed him vaping alerted the authorities.
Battery-operated heating systems of vape apparatuses heat up liquid to create vapors for inhalation. Officers warned Bretz that vaping could be a fire hazard given the oxygen-rich environment of his room.
Bretz is facing charges for alleged drug possession and must appear in court on January 2nd, 2023.

Recently, the Kansas House of Representatives passed a bill to legalize medical marijuana. It did not make its way through the Senate. In the future legislators plan to will renew efforts to have it legalized.
