Bill Cosby has his sights set on a comeback comedy tour in 2023.
Cosby made the statement during a radio interview with host Scott Speaks on “WGH Talk”, adding, “When I come out of this, I feel that I will be able to perform and be the Bill Cosby that my audience knows me to be.”
Andrew Wyatt, Cosby representative, has verified to Variety that the comedian intends to resume touring activities next year.
Previously Cosby said he was working on a TV show and a book and had been in discussions with producers.
In December of this year, a new sexual assault lawsuit was filed by five women against NBC and Bill Cosby. This was made possible due to the temporary suspension of the statute of limitations on sex crimes under New York state law. Some of the alleged assaults date back to the late 1980s or early 1990s, and with another dating back to 1969.
Cosby served time in prison for the sexual assault of Andrea Constand, a conviction that was overturned. He was released in 2021. Close to 60 women have accused him of drugging and sexually assaulting them.
