A man accused of strolling down the street in Palm Beach naked told police that he is from another planet.
Jason Smith, 44, was detained by police on suspicion of indecent exposure, disorderly behavior, and resisting arrest.
The incident started when a Ta-boo Restaurant employee called the police to report that a naked man had just passed the eatery on Worth Avenue in full view of many diners. Bystanders swiftly identified the individual to the police when they arrived.
Smith admitted to police that he had forgotten where he had put his clothes. He also allegedly refused to provide the police with his name or birthdate. Authorities reported that he persisted in refusing to reveal his name.
He was taken to the police headquarters to be questioned by officers.
The individual identified himself and then informed authorities that neither an ID card nor a social security number were in his possession.
The arrest record states that Smith initially claimed to police he lived on a foreign planet but eventually admitted to living in West Palm Beach.
Smith is still detained in Palm Beach County.
