Residents of an east Hollywood apartment building have been terrorized by a man who creeps around the building naked.
The man keeps breaking in and wandering around the complex on North Serrano Avenue disturbing them, according to terrified residents.
“He’s been trying to break into apartments,” said Vanessa Salguero, a resident.
“He was walking around naked one night, just full-on naked. I wasn’t able to sleep the last week or so. I developed really bad insomnia, really bad anxiety, and I know everyone else has been feeling the same thing.”
On a different occasion, the man was seen carrying both a huge knife and a mask, actions captured on a house security camera.
The unwelcome visits began not long after a woman was placed under observation threatening to blow up the building, scaring the same residents.
Since then, other visitors, ones unwelcome and including the naked man, have shown up looking for her.
“The police said, ‘but she’s not doing anything,’” said Maria Teresa Lim, a resident of the complex. “Then what is the right time? When all of us are dead?”
Residents are requesting greater action to be taken despite the apartment management leaving a notice on the renters’ door stating that they are doing what they can within the law.
“They changed the locks on this door right here and that doesn’t do anything for us if there are other entrance points,” said Salguero.
“You don’t want to wake up and see a naked man roaming the pool touching himself. There’s children. It’s unbearable.”
