After penises were mysteriously painted around potholes, residents say that a local UK was finally moved to fill them in.
Residents of East Sussex says they were tired of avoiding enormous sinkholes.
Eventually, workers arrived to make repairs, but only after someone took creative action.
Helen Carr, a local resident who snapped photos of the drawings, claimed that road sweepers were ordered to remove them rather than begin early road repairs.
“At lunchtime we then got the road sweeper going up and down about 30 times trying to scrub them out, but all he achieved was to make the edges of the holes crumble even more and tear up the road,” she said.
While claiming to have accelerated previously scheduled work, Sussex Council bemoaned the fact that it had placed “extra burden on our pothole repair personnel.”
Local Tina Aveyard confirmed that the word had been completed.
“It worked! Filler gang turned up this morning and filled a few,” she said.
“Looks like we should all rush out and buy a can of spray paint and get out and do all the potholes on our surrounding areas then!!!!”
