When an irritated man came at some Belgian Monopoly game participants while brandishing a Japanese samurai sword, the game unexpectedly turned bloody.
Four individuals were playing the well-known board game on the pavement outside their home, according to police. The group’s noise woke up their neighbors, a father and son, who came outside and requested that the group disperse.
Things between the players and the father-son team rapidly turned heated, leading the son to pull out a katana sword for “defense.” The sheath of his sword was damaged after the men began to wrestle which then exposed the blade.
The player attempted to take the katana and removed the holster, a local police spokesperson said, and the son made an effort to recover it.
The son, who was struck in an artery, is still in critical condition, and one of the Monopoly players was also hurt. Both of them were taken to the hospital.
The son and the injured Monopoly player, who had been released from the hospital, were both placed under arrest.
