87-Year-Old Wienermobile to Get a Name Change

Ushering in a new era, Oscar Mayer’s renowned Wienermobile is now going to be known as the “Frankmobile.”

The 27-foot-long hot dog truck’s new name is the first in almost a century. The new name “pays homage to the brand’s 100% Beef Franks as it debuts a tasty new recipe that is more flavorful than ever,” according to Kraft Heinz, the parent company of the cold cut brand.

This month, new Oscar Mayer all-beef franks will be available at grocery stores around the country. The brand used this as motivation to modernize its six Frankmobiles.

The larger-than-life hot dog mobiles all have new features, including decals and rebranded “Frank Whistles” (formerly called “Wiener Whistles”), as well as a line-up of Hotdoggers who will now be known as “Frankfurters” behind the wheel.

According to the firm, the Frankmobile would just undergo a name change while maintaining “the vehicle’s mission to spark smiles and unite fans around a love of meat.”

The Frankmobile is providing “Franks for Franks,” which allows anyone with the same name to swing by in person to receive a coupon for a complimentary pack of Oscar Mayer beef franks.
