Auction Set for 230 Classic Cars Found in a Netherlands Barn

A historic treasure, recently discovered in the Netherlands, will shortly be auctioned off.

The Palmen Barnfind Collection bears the name of the owner of the treasures. More than 40 years ago, a Mr. Palmen started collecting rare automobiles. He ended up keeping more than 230 cars in two warehouses and a church, places where few ever saw them.

Due to his advancing age and other circumstances, Palmen was no longer able to maintain his amazing collection. Vintage automobile dealer, Gallery Aaldering, purchased the vast historic fleet.

Currently, the collection is being kept in the city of Dordrecht, only 16 miles southwest of Rotterdam.

The cars appear to be in decent shape despite being covered in dust in a video shared by Gallery Aaldering.

The number of classics is quite astonishing. There is a vast range of American and European machines from the 1910s to the 2000s. These include a 1912 Singer Convertible, a 1927 Ford A Roadster, a 1984 Ferrari 400 Automatic, and a 1995 Jaguar XJ-S 4.0 Convertible.

“This barnfind collection is truly a unique opportunity for car enthusiasts and collectors around the world to expand their collection. We are very pleased to be able to auction these cars through Classic Car Auctions and look forward to seeing how much interest there is in this wonderful collection,” said employees of Gallery Aaldering.

The auction takes place between May 19th and June 7th.
