Grandma Handles Man Trying to Rob Her Food Truck

An elderly woman in Houston shot and killed a 23-year-old male who was attempting to rob her food truck at gunpoint after his gun’s trigger jammed, according to the police.

In the afternoon in southwest Houston, a would-be robber allegedly pulled up to the soul food truck Elite Eats, inquired about the type of cuisine it offered, and then abruptly placed a gun in the window, according to police.

Before squeezing the trigger, the man allegedly pointed his gun toward Keshondra Howard Turner, 53, and her brother. However, the revolver jammed.

The robber collapsed 50 feet away and was pronounced dead at the scene after being shot multiple times by Turner. Police said she has a permit to carry a gun.

Howard’s son Derick Howard told KHOU 11 that his mother was  “good-hearted, looking out for everybody. She’d give the shirt off her back.”

“My momma is a great person, you know?” he said. “I hope she’s alright because I know right now she’s going crazy because that’s not even (like) her.”

Houston police said Turner had a panic attack following the shooting and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The family said they have been operating the food truck in that same parking lot for three years and never had any problems until now.
