Nude Man Arrested After Police Find Stolen Bus with Dead Deer Inside

    After two pursuits with law enforcement in York and Adams counties, one of which, according to authorities, involved a stolen school bus with a dead deer inside, a man was apprehended in York County.

    Officers stopped a car with a Florida license plate in connection with a burglary investigation from the day before, said the Pennsylvania State Police in Adams County. The driver, Tony Saunders, was questioned by troopers during the stop and claimed to be returning from work.

    According to State Police, the troopers learned about a theft at York County’s Rutters Convenience Store during the stop. Saunders had things from Rutters in the car, and claimed to have obtained them at a junkyard.

    The truck also had a dead deer in the trunk and a dog in the rear, say police.

    Saunders drove off as the troopers attempted to open the car door. The automobile allegedly drove over a chain link fence as the troopers followed.

    The car went through treelines before becoming stopped on train tracks, according to the police. He then ran into a thickly wooded area behind a vacant motel

    Carroll Township Police later received notice that an Abbottstown school bus that had been reported stolen had been seen in the Dillsburg region.

    According to police, they discovered the bus in a parking lot of a mall and made an attempt to stop it. The bus allegedly departed the parking area and traveled north on Route 15 while weaving in and out of traffic. Police claim that after leaving the freeway and turning onto Lower Allen Drive, the bus over a berm.

    The driver allegedly fled into a rural area after that and was later discovered sprinting through nearby parking lots as he shed his clothes. The was naked when he was apprehended.

    Saunders allegedly testified to police that he had taken the bus earlier in the day following a car crash and that the dead deer was for use as garden fertilizer.

    According to the State Police, Saunders is accused of avoiding arrest or detention on foot, fleeing or attempting to elude officials, dangerously endangering another person, trespassing by motor vehicle, and other traffic violations in Adams County.

    Saunders is also accused of fleeing, receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, and careless driving in York County, said court documents.

    The records note that Saunders has resided in both  Florida’s Port Saint Lucie and Steelton, PA.
